Where you from?

What’s your daily routine?
I’m the type of guy to wake up late, like 2PM. I usually wake up, go to work, come back, take a nap and then be up all night making music until 8AM.
How would you describe your craft?
My music is very upbeat and fun. I want my music to remind people of good times when they’re out with their friends.
When do you feel the most creative/What’s the vibe when you’re making music?
I feel the most creative at night, that’s why I vibe with nightlife and the club scene so much. When I play the beat, I’ll just start mumbling stuff. I’ll record that and then put lyrics on top of it. It takes me a long time to come up with lyrics, I think I might have ADD or something. It takes me a whole day to write a song while I got some friends that can record 6,7 tracks in an hour you know? Also I can’t record in front of people, I have to be alone. I’m really introverted so I like to be alone with my engineer. I’ll structure the song at home then I’ll bring it to my engineer.
What did you want to be as a kid?
When I was younger I wanted to be a vet. By the time I got to college, I wanted to be a radiologist but then I did a shadowing for a day, you’re sitting there taking x-rays of people the whole day. Man it gets boring quickly, I’d much rather be getting little checks here and there from music than to be sitting in a dark room all day.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
Miami or LA, I watch videos of those places everyday, I just feel like I belong there.
What’s your favourite song of all time and why?
I’m not a music head, it’s a bit weird I know but if I listen to too much music I’ll try to emulate the sounds. To be honest, I just stay in my own lane. I don’t dig deep into other artists’ music.
How did you get your name?
You know what? I was watching a Lyrical Lemonade video where he said that his mom came up with the name so I asked my mom and she came up with Taco Toby.
What’s next for you?
I’m coming through with the house stuff, it’s a different wave. This is my vision: you got the rapper look but you’re doing the opposite of what people expect you to do. A mixed kid with braids and diamond teeth rapping on house music?! That’s the look I want to pursue.
